Singapore · Singapore Police Force report 2024-10-29 · allegation, not a conviction

The ticket arrived by email, but the gate stayed closed

An electronic ticket can look convincing and still fail at the entrance.

Between 16 and 27 October 2024, police received reports about Halloween Horror Nights tickets advertised on Carousell. Buyers allegedly paid using PayNow or bank transfers and received fake electronic tickets by email. They discovered the problem when refused entry to Universal Studios Singapore. Reported losses totalled about S$1,000. Officers arrested a suspect on 28 October and announced a charge scheduled for 30 October. The report does not establish guilt or recovery of payments.

Outcome: An arrest and intended charge were reported, not a conviction or reimbursement.

Lesson: Use authorised attraction-ticket sellers and verify purchasing conditions. An emailed ticket is not proof of validity.
